- great for cooking, grilling or seasoning
- blended with wood-fire smoked paprika
Fluffy, light and pure crystals of Flor de Sal are mixed with a super smoky paprika that is unique to Spain. Pimento de la Vera is a super smoky paprika that is stone milled in Western Spain. It is much more flavorful than regular paprika and is an essential seasoning in Spanish cooking.
After being harvested from small plots in the La Vera region, farmers smoke the peppers for two weeks over smoldering oak stumps then stone grind them to produce a traditional seasoning, which is present in much of Spanish cooking – from chorizos to stews and cocidos. It is a versatile salt, great as a grilling seasoning, a perfect rub for chicken or pork, and even a secret ingredient to chili. (more info)

Our Especias del Sol Collection comes from a traditional family company founded in 1878. Owners Jose Manuel and Mercedes hand-harvest these particular salts from the Mediterranean Sea, just as people have for thousands of years in the same area!
Flor de Sal is the premium salt. It is laden with minerals from the sea, which provide the special saltiness of the sea. To create this classic salt, bubbling surf is captured in designated ponds under the bright, warm Spanish sunshine.
As the fresh seawater evaporates, a delicate crust of sea salt begins to crystallize. This “flor” is painstakingly harvested by hand, never touching the sands below. It is blended with the pungent Pimentón de la Vera, and then placed in a clear class jar with a genuine natural cork top. Perfect for your counter, spice shelf or table.
