Our Especias del Sol Collection comes from a traditional family company founded in 1878. Owners Jose Manuel and Mercedes hand-harvest these particular salts from the Mediterranean Sea, just as people have for thousands of years in the same area!
Flor de Sal is the premium salt. It is laden with minerals from the sea, which provide the special saltiness of the sea. To create this classic salt, bubbling surf is captured in designated ponds under the bright, warm Spanish sunshine.
As the fresh seawater evaporates, a delicate crust of sea salt begins to crystallize. This “flor” is painstakingly harvested by hand, never touching the sands below. It is blended with the Empeltre olives, and then placed in a clear class jar with a genuine natural cork top. Perfect for your counter, spice shelf or table.
